Still no rain. The decrease in the level of the marshes is alarming. Some of them were built by flooding towns and expropriating the owners of the houses where they lived.

The “Campomediano” reservoir is now practically dry. In the town that was underwater and has emerged almost completely, two corpses appear with clear signs of having been murdered.

The investigation of the case in order to clarify the identities of the bodies is in charge of the inspector of the homicide and missing persons brigade, Daniela Yanes. At the crime scene covered by water for more than twenty years, only two bullets that were supposedly used in the murder were found.

The identification of the two bodies leads two families separated by the border between Spain and Portugal to a common destiny that starts in the late 1990s and a plot in which different characters cross paths with unforeseeable consequences. Discovering a past that marks their present and will determine their future. A story in which risk, love, ambition, betrayal, greed and death coexist. With drought and climate change in the background.
